What CyanogenMod has to Say - The One Plus Experience

With One Plus One I began to experience CyanogenMod as a Operating System. Initially, I wasn't sure if all the hype it carries is true.

After using it for a month, all I can say is Yes. It's worth the Hype. There is a lot of customization that's possible through this OS. For example, we can change the Icons, Themes, Scroll effects, number of grids on the screen etc

Each of these can be changed individually or can be changed as a whole pack. There are other OS which support this, but can't really compare them with this yet. Not without experiencing them first.

The built-in customization gives us flexibility to change the way animation behaves while swiping through the Home screens or navigating between menu pages. All this without installing any third party apps.

The new introduction of swype and waves effects to 11s, gives much-needed boost in the areas of input through Keyboard and Music. I have experienced Waves audio on my Dell laptop earlier and was pretty good Audio software which has many options to Boost Bass, Treble etc and also comes with many presets.

Coming to the Day to Day usage fo CyanogenMod , its no different than any Stock Android experience, except with small tweaks which are really helpful on a long run. These tweaks bring-in much-needed apps on the device which add the identity of OS. Also, the main reason to go for this OS is no addition of bloatware like all other main-league Andriod Phone makers.

Few other things to be talked about are Redesigned Gallery App, Themes pack app, Camera App, and Screencast App.

Camera App is good with lots of Modes for each scene. Especially I fell in love with long shutter or slow shutter mode. Few samples are added below. It leaves a long trail of light with there is movement. The quality of the photos are good and are in league with other flagships.

Themes app lets you choose different themes while giving you access to set different options from different themes. Like Icons from a different theme can be chosen, also wallpaper, notification icons, Font styles.

As you notice the Icons are different for each of the Picture. Also, the battery meter is different. So basically it lets you choose whatever you want them to be.

Going to screencast, it's one awesome app for record you devices screen. It helps with app demos, Quick How to's , Reviewing an App or Device etc. A lot of usages can be bundled to this app.

So basically all I want to say is, Cyanogen is here to stay. It has all ingredients I ever wanted in an Mobile OS.
