Guardians of Galaxy Fun ride !!
I somehow now feel that marvel studios has understood the formula for making a entertaining film.We have seen Avengers,which was widely appreciated for mix of elements is had. Loads of fun and Action, not to forget that they are light on heart, unlike the other emotions which work, like drama,tragedy and thrill.
Well coming to this particular movie, casting Chris pratt was a big gamble marvel took i suppose, atleast from my point of view. He has no big movies and most of his roles never made an impact on the audience.
May be he didnt land in a role that could bring the complete him into the character. Nevertheless he made a huge impact and his portrayal of peter quill get top marks. There where many epic scenes through out the movie, and chris was perfect,apt.
I always had this imagination or feeling that a lead character in a movie/comics should have those common elements or traits which all humans have. Any having these qualities would help a super hero close the gap between reel and real . It brings a sense of naturalism into the movies,which otherwise didn't exist.
This movie has many elements which are common,but many elements which makes you wander in space.Its a old story cast and categorized to reach all audience. Its a blend of fun and comedy,which is filled with whole lot of action, some parts emotion,heroism. Its a story of a petty thief,who helps save a galaxy from destruction.
Coming to the scenes which i loved the most are the part when Peter Quill makes an entry with his mask,puts on this walkman and dance his way through the alien lizards(which ofcourse are small). He even holds one of them and sings through. Amazing... Then Groot and Rocket adds most of the fun, they are the life of the movie. Those characters keeps the audience hooked and wanting for more. At the end again , you will see Groot beat some bad guys to pulp and then turns back to smile,peter quill dancing to the tune,at the crux of a heavy action scene. End credits scene has small groot dancing to the tunes on a small pot. They are so epic and keeps you wanting more of it. Like a piece of pie is so tasty that you keep wanting more and more.
Music, adds a breeze of smoothness to otherwise rough story. Its the only medium through which Peter Quill emotes or the movie has that connect with love. All the goldies are included into the Soundtrack called Awesome Mix vol-1.
