Android 4.3 A much Sweeter Jelly Bean : on Note 2(Samsung) Update

Well this was one disaster.
I am not really sure of what samsung was thinking when it released this update for Note 2. It rendered my mobile almost unresponsive. I literally couldnt make a call for 24 hours.

Well initially it took 3-4 hours to update the mobile and was stuck at stage where it optimizes the application present on the mobile. Mine having more than 300 apps, that was a nasty affair. But i restarted it and was able to get through that screen, but most of the apps were abruptly stopping and creating one heck of a experience.

The rendering was pretty slow.i felt like i was sent back to those symbian days where in we have to wait for the mobile to respond before we can actually do something else. But samsung got those memories back. But real disaster was those apps which i was addicted to,lost all the data. All those notes i made, memories i jogged,Everything was just gone !! . Well i might accept that samsung might not know the kind if apps i use and kind of customised testing they have to perform for every user and its almost impossible. But atleast my app was one of those from the list of editorial choice mainstream apps.

To make things much sick,i didnt know a way to roll back the  update. But later after few hours,i did decrypt my device(as knox is in place now) and tried to update my phone once again based on some online forums.
Well thats when i got my second update !! Still nothing really changed.

But there was this third update which might have fixed those bugs. But i felt my phone was tad faster because i decrypted it.

One thing i loved the most is that my phone no longer needs a passcode to open, while most of the secure stuff is moved to knox, But the other side of the game is that knox reset itself on third update and rather deleting all my data. So even though i keep my secure data on the device, atleast i can choose the kind of lock to protect that. I was rather annoyed to enter my pin every 10 minutes.

Well i cant really provide much technical details on the updates,as i was in a hurry to get my phone functional. As the beauty of any electronic device holds just as long as its fully operational. When thats gone,it can be compared to a brick(well why people say that their phone is a brick now !!)

Lessons learnt after buring hands on this one was to never update your Primary phone before we know what we are updating to and its results.

Peace !!
